Laser or Inkjet?

Most new businesses will have a need to print, whether it's black and white (mono) letters and invoices or full colour presentations to prospective customers.

Broadly speaking, there are two types of printer available - inkjet and laser.

Laser printers are generally more expensive to buy, but also quicker and cheaper to run as consumables (toner and paper) tend to be less expensive.

Inkjet printers cost less to buy and produce better quality photos, but are generally more expensive to run as consumables (ink cartridges and special paper for improved print results) cost more.

When it comes to buying a printer, the range available is huge. So it's really a case of 'horses for courses' and working out what product suits you and your business best. For example, if your only print need is for an occasional letter, you may consider it is not worth forking out for a colour laser printer geared up for dealing with high volume print jobs.
