Mono or Colour?
Research shows that you have an extremely short period of time to persuade a prospect to look at your material.
When you walk into a shop, or even peer into it from the outside, think about how the general tone of its overall appearance affects you. Visual appeal is your first weapon, so use it wisely.
As the cost of colour lasers continues to fall they have become a viable alternative for small business. Users can switch to mono for high volume print runs (on Brother machines around 1p per copy) and use the colour mode (around 1.7p per page) to produce crisp text and graphics at a reasonable cost.
You can also save money by using the mono draft mode of your printer for proofs and internal documents - less ink or toner is used and, therefore, the cost per copy comes down. Only use colour print for the finished article.
Colour is also excellent if you use a lot of graphs and charts. For starters, they're more pleasing to the eye and are also easier to read. It's also more professional to have your company letterhead in colour on documents.
If you want to print photography to a high standard on a regular basis, then a colour inkjet would be your best bet.
