They combine a printer with a range of functions, such as fax, copy and scan, in one machine.

The latest multifunction machines stand no taller than a coffee cup and because they only need one lead, one socket and one PC connection, your desk won't become like spaghetti junction. It is worth checking that compact models don't expand by a third during operation (with a large pull out tray for example) as some manufacturers use this technique to make the product seem smaller.
